Major Karnage Mix Tape Addendum
If I could, I'd add 13 Engines' "Smoke & Ashes" to my Major Karnage Mix Tape on Youtube. Alas, there appears to be no video for it on there. Booooo.
Just play it in your head and hum along.

After completing the first draft of MK6, I thought I'd celebrate by putting together a Major Karnage Mix Tape. This is a sampling of the music I listen to while writing Major Karnage.
I was going to be all cool and savvy and embed a youtube player that would automagically play my playlist, except over half of the videos have been blocked from embedding. Booo, Universal Music Group! Tragically, you will have to go directly to YouTube in order to listen to it.
Remember how I said I was super-hyped about MK6? Well, that super hypedness gave me a really bad case of writer's block, otherwise known as I'm-too-chicken-shit-to-write-any-of-this-down. The tendonitis I gave myself in early February didn't help much either. Having razor blades stuffed into your forearms is a relatively okay excuse for not writing. It's not a great one, but it's almost passable.
Thankfully, the razorblades have (mostly) sheathed themselves, and I am able to type once again. I am in the midst of transcribing MK5, but have also taken time to blaze ahead on MK6. Much sketching out of plot was already accomplished over the last few weeks (razor blades and all), so right now it's just a matter of writing in the details. And that, in and of itself, is kind of like eating a big bowl of razor blades. It hurts like hell going down, and--oh hell, that's about where the analogy ends.
So, once again, progress is being made. This goddamn novel is taking a hell of a lot longer to write than I could ever have wanted it to. I don't think I'll ever write a book in this way again. I'm just prolonging the agony, really. Blah.
But whatever. This is the path I have chosen, and blah blah chosen one blah blah destiny yadda yadda stay the course yadda yadda four more years and on and on ad nauseum.
Oh, and I'm toying with the idea of rejigging MK4. Why? Because I'm a goddamn masochist, that's why.
Calgon, take me away! Back to Calgonia, where I belong! Where I can hang with the rest of the Calgonians. Oh, wondrous and glorious Calgon, the most high powered of all beings! All knowing! All powerful!
Calgon, take the wheel! Guide me through the darkness! Take the wheel!
What do you mean I have to take the damn wheel myself?! Responsibility for the self?! WHAT?! What the hell kind of all powerful god are you?!
Oh, right. You don't exist.
Well, shit.
Onward. I guess.
(Stupid Calgon...)
MK5 is poking along nicely. I am really really really impatient to get it done, as I'm super hyped about MK6. Well, about the opening scene, at any rate. It's already written and it kicks. I mean smokingly awesome. Too awesome for words.
MK4: Kamp Karnage is done. Won't see the light of day until the spring, though. Sucks, I know. That's the way the thermonuclear warhead detonates, folks.
MK5 is approaching finished, as well. It's at about the same point as MK4 was the last time I updated this blog. Proof that I'm writing, even though I ain't doing it here.
The good major is marching on, and once I've got another installment on the way, I'll let y'all know.
Mmkay? Mmkay.
